Students were given a clue about a staff member and had to complete a challenge in that classroom to receive their next clue! Students in these pictures are shooting hoops for Mr. Hamilton, building a marshmallow snowman with popsicle sticks with Mrs. Jones, and trying to find a dad joke good enough to make Mrs. Naslund laugh or at least roll her eyes!

A Note From the School Nurse (Rita Schneider):
This year there have been 880,000 cases of the flu in the US. Of those, 6900 have been hospitalized and 360 have resulted in death. Not since 2009 H1N1 Swine Flu Pandemic has there been a season of such severity. (These numbers are based on lab confirmed cases, doctor visits, hospitalizations, and deaths.) Influenza is hitting the US earlier and hard underscoring the potential for a perilous winter of respiratory viruses. Flu season generally lasts between October through May. This year it arrived about 6 weeks earlier than expected with uncharacteristically high illness rates. Every year we urge you to get vaccinated against the flu but this year it is more urgent than ever. Vaccinated people can still get sick but the purpose of the vaccine is to protect against most serious outcomes and complications. It is recommended all children over 6 months get the flu vaccine. The flu has not been as prevalent the last 2 years meaning everyone is coming into flu season with less immunity and protection due to less prior infection and less body immunity being built up. Please stay safe and healthy and consider getting your flu shot this year.
