On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, the CK speech team finished as D2-4 Runners-up in Stuart, Nebraska. CK junior, Kynzee M. headlined the Cody-Kilgore outstanding oratorial efforts by winning the district title in Informative Public Speaking, and finishing third in Persuasive Public Speaking. Both efforts punched Kynzee's ticket to the NSAA State Speech Tournament in Kearney, Nebraska next Friday, March 28, 2025. Not to be outdone, a rag-tag group of CK freshmen earned a trip to State by finishing in third place in the group event, Oral Interpretation of Drama (OID). Members of the state qualifying OID are James W., Aubryanna S., Isaac P., Amanda P., and Teagen F. Cody-Kilgore junior Zoey D. just missed qualifying for State with her fourth place finish in Oral Interpretation of Poetry. Emiliano G. also just missed qualifying for State with his fourth place finish in Extemporaneous Speaking. Rounding out CK's 10-medal haul were a fifth place finish by Amanda P. in Entertainment Speaking, a fifth place finish by Aubryanna S. in Interpretation of Humorous Prose, a fifth place finish by Emiliano G. in Informative Public Speaking, a sixth place finish by James W. in Entertainment Speaking, and a sixth place finish by Addysen Hawthorne in Oral Interpretation of Poetry.
